NOT GETTING RELIGIOUS! (but getting right-eous)

Of ourselves we are not right with God and never could be 'of ourselves'. Going to church and being religious doesn't mean that we are acceptable to God, in fact doing that and not being made 'anew/born-again' makes us worse, even hypocrites.

Jesus problem was with religious hypocrites not the ordinary sinful person. He told the religious hypocrites of His day that the prostitutes and thieves would go to heaven before them and he also said why....click.

Because he noticed that people like prostitutes and thieves more readily accepted who they 'really' were and repented and reformed. They were serious and sorry for their sins, rather than sweeping them under the 'religious carpet' of 'good-works and religious ceremonies' and attempted worship of God......click.

As well as the carpet of undermining and excusing sin and at the same time making a loud claim of God's Mercy and Love, all by way of misrepresentation of scripture. This being without a change of heart so as to deal properly with sin (that which displeases God/Jesus) once and for all! (and doesn't that stir up some religious - unrighteous - indignation!!)......click.

And this is why they crucified the Christ-Jesus, because he exposed their sin and religious hypocrisy but also offered deliverance....click.

Yes, religion is usually soft on sin (for people who live in glass houses or churches may not throw stones!) and vicious against the truth which exposes it and whoever speaks 'the truth'.

Religion specialises in white-washing rather than washing white, like adding a piece of new cloth to an old garment. This is especially true of roman catholic, traditional, evangelical and pentecostal 'christianity' by way of their medieval doctrine.

So now (and for long enough), even the Christ has been taken by religion as a cover-up of known-on-going, recurring (under test) so called personal weaknesses and short comings, what God/Jesus calls sin (and still affirms the wages thereof to be death!) but which religion excuses and accommodates, with hugs and back patting.
