STEEPLES! ... A SIGN?

I heard a minister say once on a religious television programme who was associated with the Wesley Uniting Church group .. Yes, dear listeners, as we look over this fair land of ours we see with our own eyes the marks of God in this great country, represented by the many .. steeples ..in our midst.. a sign for all to witness... Acts 7:48-53.

But the holy bible tells another story in both old and new testaments, if we would only dare to read this book of truth... Luke 21:1-6.

The sign that God is in a land is not church buildings/steeples and spires, this is the sign of religion, traditions of men and institutionalisation.

Never has God painted this picture of true Christianity for His people. They were always known as pilgrims, strangers and even foreigners in the earth but never part of society and the world of sin. Even back in the times of Abraham, Moses, Isaac and Jacob up to Paul, John and the other apostles, which of these built church towers for the almighty God of Israel? ...James 4:4.

Many talk about witnessing for the Christ in Christendom but are they told that the greatest witness of all is to give up your life and be a wilful prisoner of the Christ. The scripture we are working with tells us that God was not ashamed of those who were of no fixed address in this world but has prepared a city for such as these and what a city it will be.. the New Jerusalem... Acts 4:36,37.. Acts 4:13.. Revelation 21:22-27.

Australia needs to see Jesus in people, Jesus in the pulpits and Jesus in our objectives not bigger and more beautiful buildings with state of the art sound and learning equipment. Man can get that in any rock concert or University in the world... too easy!.. but to lay ones life down is another objective altogether. We have church leaders and church goers alike all over the world spruiking about the coming of Messiah, the end of the world, time is running out, bible prophecy being fulfilled before your very eyes and these spruikers are still setting up steeples, multi million dollar church or religious establishments like never before. Do you really believe that the God of Moses would be proud of that. And when He/God looks over His shoulder only to see hungry, dying, sick and bibleless people, children in the dust.

Wisdom .. is justified by her children. Is it a wise thing that people spruik Messiahs coming is nigh and they hand out millions of dollars daily to lift up their denomination, religion, organisation and selves in preference to lifting Jesus higher along with the poor, hungry, sick, homeless and lost. 1 Corinthians 15:34
