"TO THOSE THAT HAVE EARS"

NEWSLETTER NO.1

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:16
"Watch Yourself"
How many of us truly believe the Word and doctrine of our Lord Jesus?...............Many would profess to believe but their works and deeds show otherwise!

The above scripture tells us that we should take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine and continue in them. Do you search yourself to see if you are in the faith?...........Faith is not mental assent it is an action that is continually carried out! Again the apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, ( Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates ).

This verse is saying that we must check / measure ourselves in light of the doctrine of the scriptures to see if we walk in the truth. If not...........than Christ is not in us and we are but reprobate! How can we say that we are His if we do not do the things He has   asked?  1 John 2:4 says that we are liars and the truth is not in us if we do not keep His commandments. Jesus said that those that are His brothers and sisters are those that do the will of the Father. So how should we show our faith? ( Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40).

So let us reason this scripture together and look at how we see God in our lives.....is He number one? What things do we do and say to our neighbour. Can you truly say we are doing His will / trusting in Him / LOVING Him?
  • Is loving God something we can Just say / a mental assent? The bible says NO!...........to love someone is to commit yourself to them, to give of yourself totally..........In 1 Corinthian 13 the apostle sets forth the excellency of love, as the word "charity" again this is an action word.
  • Does you husband / wife, father / mother, son / daughter know that you love them simply because you tell them or by the way you give yourself / do things / show them?
  • So you see its what we do that makes the difference. To say we love God means nothing! But to show we love Him by obedience means everything!
