What Jesus the Christ is saying here, is
very clear... sin will land you in the fire of hell, where the worm never dies nor is the
fire ever quenched.
This is not a threat, it is a promise of Lord Jesus, the Christ/Messiah.
How serious, how frightening, how evil, how awesomely terrifying must the place
called hell be. Jesus talks about dismembering ones bodily parts, so they are not able to
sin again. This is the best way Jesus can explain how much He doesn't want one soul to
live in hell... Romans 6:1-23.
Hell is not a place where people are dead and not aware of anything... it is a living
eternal death, dying in torment for ever. The soul never dies, it shall live on in hell or
heaven.
The soul consists of the mind, will and emotions, all of these will be in working order in
hell or heaven. If you be one to make your home in hell your mind will regret eternally
that you lived in sin and never let go of it.
Your will... will be to escape the fire but you will never be able and your emotions will
be so shattered you will be totally insane with panic.
If anyone tells you that sin doesn't matter and you don't go to hellfire because you live
in sin, they contradict the words of Jesus the Christ and the truth is not in them... 2
John 7-11.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, loathsome, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolaters and... all... liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death... Revelation 21:8.
Repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47.
