I can not help but recall early in my ministry an elderly lady from
my home town in Rockhampton called Mrs Hopkins, a lady who attended the Baptist church for
most of her life.............She used to drive bullock trains.
This dear soul was nearing 100 years young. Father layed her name upon my heart one day
when I was passing through my home town on a mission for him. I remembered she rode a
horse and carried a whip.
Father told me to visit her and minister to her for she was very down at the time. I first
met Mrs Hopkins when I was 12 years old, she lived next door to my school friend in North
Rockhampton, Queensland.
Anyway, I found her house once again and went up the steps to make myself known, she
opened the door and asked me in although her memory was blurred she did recall my face. We
sat and talked about Jesus, she was very surprised.
I felt holy ghost moving me to pray with her a prayer of repentance unto salvation after
we finished praying I then prayed Fathers blessing upon her with strength in
mind..............approx/1989 or thereabouts.
Well, her whole countenance changed, her face was like a beacon, her body was
electrified with his/Jesus wonderful love, joy and peace, she was well and truly saved,
she touched him and he touched her, no doubt about it.
Mrs Hopkins only ever knew me as the wild college boy who was up to no good every time I
went to her neighbours place but it was this same boy that Father chose to visit her
19years later to pray with her and lay hands on her before she went into the next world.................thank
you Jesus!
Mrs Hopkins said this one thing to me before I left that day.......
