This is a analysis of the teaching of Dave Hunt on eternal security,
once saved always saved, can a born again Christian lose (forfeit)
their salvation?
D.H.. Dave Hunt/11/98
P.S.. Paul Sheehan
D.H.. This conversation creates confusion and distress.
P.S.. The scripture above tells us that we shall know the truth if we will, plus
Psalm 60:3.
D.H.. Works determine, rewards or punishment not ones salvation.
P.S.. Obedience leads to salvation and disobedience leads to death......Hebrews
5:9, Titus 1:16
D.H.. Salvation cannot be partly by works and partly by grace.
P.S.. Not even Gods grace is enough for sold out sin lovers or double minded...
....Ephesians 2:8. ( By grace and through faith/obedience, his power our
will).
D.H.. Salvation cannot be lost by bad deeds.
P.S.. Ananias and Sapphira/liars, slain by God .. was it a bad deed?.....Acts
5:1-11.
D.H.. Uses Romans 3:26, faith is the highlight.
P.S.. Faith is a word of commitment, continuance and action in my bible.....Luke 6:46
D.H.. Salvation is the full pardon by grace from the penalty of all sin, past, present or
future, eternal life is the bonus thrown in.
P.S.. But Jesus said if we sin, we can repent and be restored/cleansed from all
unrighteousness, so what if we don't repent and just continue in sin? (restore means -
give back, renew, re-establish).
D.H.. Many believe that you keep yourself saved by works.
P.S.. Not true Dave but neither shall we escape wrath if we neglect the gift He has
bestowed upon us.. Hebrews 2:3, Titus 1:16..... (Counted
worthy to escape what? ..........Luke 21:36)
D.H.. We can not live a good enough life to keep it because we couldn't live a good enough
life to earn it.
P.S.. Really?.. If you are lukewarm I will vomit you out/reject you but you can repent and
return. Also read Luke 8:21, John 15:2, Hebrews 12:14.
D.H.. To call it eternal life would be a mockery if the person who had it could lose it
and suffer eternal death.
P.S.. No Dave, it is a mockery if God gives eternal life and man abuses Gods goodness and
reaps eternal death .. Romans 11:22, Romans 8:12-14, Hebrews 10:29.
D.H.. Uses John 10:28 as a safety net.
P.S.. The issue of osas is not about Jesus its about man moving away from God ....Hebrews
3:12
D.H.. Professing Christian has denied the faith and is living in unrepentant sin has not
fallen from grace nor lost his salvation, he was never saved.
P.S.. Dave, you need to read Hebrews 10:28,29,39 .. these were blood washed
people, saved.
D.H.. Salvation .. a gift He will not take back nor can it be lost!
P.S.. In reality, apostates don't lose their salvation nor does Jesus take it from them ..
they forfeit it, in their selfish madness they say yes to satan and no to God, they
wilfully exchange the future for the now and what did Jesus say?.. Genesis
3:4, Matt 16:24-26, Luke 21:34-36.
My final word is, the OSAS doctrine is not scriptural, how permanent is eternal
life?.. as permanent as you want it to be .. Romans 11:22, Revelation
3:5 ...........(CLICK HERE)
Amen.
