The
Unbiblical and Blind Leadership of Billy Graham
(A
true friend of the Roman Catholic Church) |
The following piece of writing
is taken from a question and answer section titled,
'My Answer by Billy Graham' on the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association website.
Q: I know God forgave my sins when I asked Jesus to
come into my life a few months ago, but what happens if
I sin again? I'm trying to stay on the right path, but
if I commit a sin in the future, does this mean I'm no
longer saved? I worry about this. - D.McD.
A: Dear D. McD.,
The devil's primary goal is to keep us away from Christ
- but if we do give our lives to Him, the devil will
still try to fill us with doubt and fear. And one of his
oldest tricks is to get us to doubt our salvation.
The bible is clear: Once we truly give our lives to
Jesus Christ and trust Him alone for our salvation, God
cleanses us from all our sins and makes us members of
His family forever. The bible says, "The blood of Jesus,
his Son, purifies us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). If we
lost our salvation every time we sinned, then we'd lose
our salvation every day - because we sin every day. We
may not even be aware of our sins, but an impure thought
or an unkind word is sin in God's eyes.
The key is to remember this: Your salvation does not
depend on you, but on Christ. If it depended on you,
you could never be saved, because you are never good
enough. But your salvation depends solely on
Christ and what He did for you on the cross.
Sin is still serious, however; when we sin, we hurt our
fellowship with God. But we are still His children if
we know Christ and nothing "will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus
our Lord" (Romans 8:39). (Sample only) |
● Commentary:
While part of what Billy Graham wrote was true, it
was still not the full counsel of Lord Jesus, which is
what the person asking the question needed to hear.
Why did Billy Graham not inform the person that if
Christians sin, they must confess their known sins to
God? Then after a believer's confession of repentance,
Lord Jesus will forgive them because Lord Jesus is just
and faithful. However, if Christians try to hide their
known sin and do not confess it to God, they are liars
and self deceived, and they make out that God is a liar,
but God/Lord Jesus who never lies will be angry with
them, as He is righteous and true (ref: 1 John 1:7-10).
If Christians do not repent of known sins, they will
later suffer the pain of eternal hell fire. What did
James say?.......James 5:19, 20.
Billy Graham is another who believes and teaches Once
Saved Always Saved (OSAS) doctrine/teaching. Graham
thinks that once people are 'genuinely saved'
that they cannot later lose their salvation; however the
truth is that born again Christians can later lose
(forfeit) their salvation if they choose to
continually live in known sin including the sins of
backsliding and apostasy and they do not repent of
these. Ref: Romans 11:20-22, Hebrews 5:9, Hebrews
10:26-31......click.
Billy Graham wrote that people's salvation does not
depend on them. The truth is, born again Christians
must do the actions of living a self sacrificial and
holy life by committing themselves fully to obeying the
teaching and commandments of Lord Jesus (ref: Romans
12:1, 2). True Christians need to serve Lord Jesus
as He leads for the rest of their days, which is
evidence of their gratitude to the Lord Jesus and of
their conduct befitting of repentance. True
Christians are saved by grace through faith. Though
both the faith and the grace are given to them by God,
Christians still need to actively demonstrate their
living faith and loyalty to Lord Jesus by obeying His
New Testament commandments. And what did St. Paul say
to Timothy?.....1 Timothy 4:16.
Billy Graham taught that nothing will be able to
separate God's children from His love and that people
are children of God if they know Christ. Remember that
Judas Iscariot, Ananias and Sapphira knew Christ Jesus,
but they still forfeited their salvation by committing
sins and by being clearly unfaithful to Lord Jesus. In
the world, not all children are loyal or grateful to
their parents. If children of God continue their
unfaithfulness toward God/Lord Jesus and they do not
repent, God will destroy them in His righteous anger,
and they would then suffer eternal pain and torment in
hell. However, Billy Graham being a popular veteran
member of Christendom did not want to upset the person
that wrote to Him and did not give them a fiery warning
about the severity of Lord Jesus' righteous judgments
towards the unrepentant, saved and unsaved....1
Thessalonians 1:8.
Beware of false leaders and false teachers. There
are much larger numbers of false people compared to the
number of truly loyal saints in this world (ref:
Matthew 7:13-20). You can know a person by their
character, and you can know a false leader and false
teacher by testing their teaching by comparing it with
scripture hence discovering their false teaching and
false ways......click |
